The Director will also communicate enrollment strategy and results clearly to senior leadership and the Board. The Director will coordinate the full enrollment pipeline—marketing, outreach, admissions, yield, and retention—and will provide strategic leadership on enrollment marketing, messaging, and market positioning, partnering with the Communications Coordinator and Admissions/Development support staff to ensure a coherent, data-informed approach. This includes particular responsibility for strengthening TJ’s domestic and international recruitment pipelines, especially in support of the boarding program. This position requires a warm, polished presence; excellent judgment; and the ability to represent the School in local, regional, and international markets.
Experience in admissions or enrollment management at the secondary or college level; preference for candidates with boarding-school or international recruitment experience
Deep understanding of independent schools and the unique rhythms of boarding-school life
Excellent communication skills; the ability to articulate TJ’s mission and impact with clarity and authenticity and to build trust with students, families, faculty, and external partners
Strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple complex processes
Facility with relevant technologies (e.g., Google Workspace, CRMs, email marketing platforms, Blackbaud) and willingness to learn new systems
Experience developing or executing enrollment growth strategies, market positioning, or new recruitment initiatives
Financial and analytical acuity, including the ability to use data to shape strategy, inform financial aid and net tuition decisions, and measure outcomes
Commitment to high-touch customer service, timely follow-through, and careful record-keeping
Cultural fluency, empathy, and sensitivity to linguistic and cultural differences among families including experience working with international students, families, and educational systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, coordinating part-time support staff and a faculty admissions committee, and mobilizing the wider School community in support of enrollment and retention
Collegial spirit, positive outlook, integrity, and sense of humor
Genuine appreciation for adolescents and respect for the needs and concerns of parents
