Position Overview:
The Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for leading and managing the admissions process for grades 6-12 at JHCS, an independent school committed to academic excellence, community engagement, and student development. This role includes overseeing student recruitment, enrollment management, and retention efforts while ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Admissions Strategy & Enrollment Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive admissions strategy to attract and enroll mission-aligned students.
Manage all aspects of the admissions process, including outreach, campus tours/shadows, interviews, application review with the Admissions Committee, and decision-making.
Maintain and analyze admissions data to track trends, assess effectiveness, and forecast future enrollment.
Collaborate with faculty and Upper and Middle School administrators to ensure smooth onboarding and retention of students.
2. Recruitment & Outreach
Build relationships with prospective students and families through school events, sports clubs, community events, feeder schools, community organizations, and outreach programs.
Along with the Advancement/Marketing personnel, design and execute engaging tours, open houses, and shadow days that reflect the unique qualities of the school.
Partner with marketing and communications to develop promotional materials, digital campaigns, and recruitment strategies.
Foster relationships with educational consultants and community organizations to strengthen the school’s outreach efforts.
3. Financial Aid & Tuition Assistance
Work closely with the Financial Aid Committee to help rank students so that financial aid resources can be allocated effectively
Communicate financial aid policies and awards clearly to prospective and current families
Help families in the application process if needed
4. Retention & Community Engagement
Develop and implement retention strategies to support student success and engagement.
Work closely with faculty, administration, and parent groups to enhance the student and family experience.
Conduct exit interviews and gather feedback from departing families to improve admissions and retention efforts.
5. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise and mentor the Admissions Committee, ensuring high levels of professionalism and customer service.
Collaborate with the Advancement and Marketing offices academic departments and student life programs to highlight school offerings.
Report regularly to the Head of School/COO and Board of Trustees on enrollment trends, projections, and admissions goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred and/or relevant experience) in education, marketing, business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, or related areas in independent schools.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Experience with or willingness to learn admissions software (Blackbaud) and data analysis.
Deep understanding of independent school culture and the Jackson Hole culture
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and a positive outlook
A passion for education, diversity, and community engagement.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Full-time, year-round administrative position - summer work can be remote when possible
Some evening and weekend work required for events and outreach
Travel to Idaho or other nearby areas for recruitment and networking opportunities may be necessary.
