Job Summary
Ascend International School recognizes and promotes the role of a Director of Admissions and Marketing within the Leadership Team of the school. The Director of Admissions works to bring potential students to the school. With input of the faculty and the Principals, the Director of Admissions leads placement of students in the Ascend classes. The Director of Admissions is also responsible for all communication media channels for Ascend.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversees the admission process for each applicant and reviews each file.
Plans and conducts admission tours and school visits with an Admissions Committee composed of selected faculty and staff.
Conducts parent interviews with prospective families.
Facilitates faculty discussion about admission.
Leads and oversees the placement process for new and current students.
Reviews and revises admission materials as needed.
Keeps detailed and accurate application records as well as student matriculation data.
Works to keep community impressions of Ascend positive through website updates, advertising, special publications, information fairs and other events.
Plans and implements advertising and promotion to achieve awareness and meet specific goals.
Manages public relations for the school and serves as the intermediary between Ascend staff and media.
Manages and oversees communication with the parent community to provide important information and news of school events.
Oversees the production of all major publications of the school, including the Ascend website and admission materials.
Implements school wide policies and procedures to improve and unify the school’s communications.
Oversees budgets related to admission, marketing and communications and ensures appropriate and efficient use of school funds.
Oversees a network of current and alumni parents

Qualifications
Education and Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience; school or child-centered experience preferred.
Collaboration: Proven experience working in teams, working with senior leadership, and effectively engaging community members.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
