Interlochen Center for the Arts (ICA) seeks to hire a dynamic Admissions professional to join a highly effective and well-functioning team of admission counselors and enrollment managers. The admission office admits more than 3,000 qualified elementary through high school-age students from more than 50 countries each year across numerous artistic disciplines and study sessions for Interlochen Arts Camp and also enrolls 550 plus high school-age students for Interlochen Arts Academy.
The Associate Director of Admission, Academy is responsible for assisting new prospective students and their families with all aspects of admission at Interlochen’s Arts Academy. Working closely with specific Academy programs and program directors / faculty, this position will assist students through the application process, and work to facilitate the enrollment of talented and mission appropriate students to Interlochen Arts Academy.
The successful applicant will be an organized team player with a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to successfully work independently, in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work collaboratively across areas with urgency, sensitivity, and responsiveness is also important.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide excellent student care as the first point of contact for prospective students and families for assigned Interlochen Arts Academy education programs. This position is the front face of the institution with families and the admission process, and will help steer these families to the right program fit.
Assesses applications, conducts interviews with applicants, and helps to complete files for admission review. Monitors the application process and maintains continuous contact by phone, email, or other means with prospective students. Makes recommendations regarding admission decisions. Provide information and assistance to students regarding scholarships and financial aid.
Identify prospective students for Interlochen Academy through effective domestic recruitment travel. Recruitment travel will include boarding school fairs, industry-specific events/conferences, visits to feeder schools/programs, and appointments with educational consultants and other individuals influential to enrollment opportunities.
Participate in on-campus admission recruitment events, including open houses, orientation sessions, and other recruitment events
Manage the enrollment process for assigned programs, including being the main admission point of contact for Academy program directors and faculty, and assessing the institutional fit with prospective students through an interview process.
Responsible for communication with families and prospective students while cultivating relationships throughout the admission cycle.
Support day to day admission operations through a strong understanding of enrollment technology and associated data. This includes implementing and/or effective use of existing workflows, automated communications, Salesforce, and reporting.
Responsible for planning and executing on targeted recruitment travel to support enrollment goals.
Serve as the department lead with organizing and leveraging Parent Ambassador support for admission events and webinars.
Co-manage student ambassador program to organize our student community to ensure an excellent campus visit experience for guests and prospective students.
Co-supervise summer interns to assist with Camp-to-Academy recruitment and enrollment efforts.
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience in an education enrollment setting; preferred experience with enrollment related to arts programs
