AIM Academy is interviewing candidates for the newly created role of Communications and Marketing Associate. This individual will report to AIM’s Chief Communications Officer and manage communications and marketing for the School to share AIM’s vibrant community with current and prospective families and support admissions, enrollment and advancement efforts. This individual’s primary responsibility will be development and implementation of compelling marketing and communication content that is consistent with AIM’s vision and core purpose to transform and empower lives through literacy. This individual should be a storyteller who is detail- and deadline-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment where innovation is encouraged.
The Communications and Marketing Associate will work as an important member of a small Communications team in collaboration with the Chief Communications Officer and the Assistant Head of School to support the communications and marketing needs of the Senior Leadership Team at AIM, a college-prep school for 400+ children with language-based learning differences in Conshohocken. This is a role perfect for someone with independent school experience who can bring their talents and best practices to the role to support AIM’s fearless learning and innovative teaching. This is a full-time, in-person, 12-month position.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Chief Communications Officer to strategize, implement, and promote AIM’s initiatives and core values in our marketing and communications efforts.
Work in conjunction with the Assistant Head of School, the advancement, admissions and enrollment teams, and Chief Communications Officer to plan collaborative projects to support departmental goals such as back-to-school messaging, capital campaign communications, admissions advertising and community-building events.
Produce family-communications including weekly, division-level digital newsletters.
Manage and create content for a social media calendar by keeping pace with school activities and events to share content on social media channels and in other school communication that tells our AIM story.
Maintain and update the external digital school calendar.
Collaborate with Division Heads and the Athletics and Student Life Department to provide regular updates to families as needed on activities and events.
Work with members of AIM Academy’s senior leadership team to ensure website content is accurate and updated on a regular basis.
Support creation and writing of AIM’s Annual Report .
Work with the Director of Summer programs to create collateral and implement marketing plans for AIM’s Summer Enrichment Program.
Play an integral role in supporting anticipated website redesign.
Develop dashboards and tracking to show the reach of advertising and marketing to help optimize digital communications.
A bachelor’s degree and 2 to 4 years of marketing and communications experience, preferably in independent schools
Experience with learning differences or working in schools for children with learning differences is a plus
A passion for transforming and empowering lives through literacy
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Have an eye and an ear for good communications and marketing
Able to implement feedback
Comfortable collaborator with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience using collaboration tools such as Google Drive, and marketing and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Hootsuite
Experience in Finalsite (or other web management platform) preferred
Experience managing professional social media accounts and planning and maintaining social media and marketing calendars.
Graphic design and Google Analytics experience a plus
Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed.
