St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, a grades 6-12 day and boarding school of 705 students, is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Admission.
The Assistant Director of Admission is responsible for managing various admission-related tasks that include interviewing students and families, organizing and supporting admission events, serving as the contact person for access programs, serving on admission committees, and supporting domestic and international day and boarding recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities:
Interview prospective students and their families, providing them with a positive and informative experience while assessing their fit for the school.
Serve as the main contact person for access programs, building relationships with community organizations, and coordinating outreach efforts to underserved communities.
Participate in admission committees, review applications, and make recommendations on admission decisions.
Support the school's domestic and international day and boarding recruiting efforts by attending fairs and events, maintaining relationships with partner schools and organizations, and conducting virtual and in-person meetings with prospective families.
Plan, organize, and execute various recruiting events throughout the year, including open houses, campus tours, and other outreach initiatives.
Support admission office in administrative activities as assigned.
Manage admission data and gain proficiency in the use of the SchoolAdmin database.
Become familiar with and be able to discuss all academic, residential, athletic, fine art, and co-curricular programs.
Participate in professional development opportunities and become familiar with independent school admission office best practices.
Maintain confidentiality in all admission office matters.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education, marketing, communication, or a related field or equivalent experience in the education and/or student recruitment sector.
At least 3-5 years of experience in student admission, marketing, or related fields, preferably in an independent school environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with database software programs, database management, and social media platforms.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
