The Opportunity:
Fountain Valley School seeks a dynamic admission professional for the role of Assistant Director of Admission. This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management. The Assistant Director is a key member of the admission and enrollment team. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison to athletics. This position requires travel to area and regional schools and fairs throughout the fall. The Assistant Director of Admission will promote the school through communication, marketing, and interpersonal skills necessary to connect with the community, prospective students and families. 1-2 years of experience in admission is preferred.
General Duties:
Show an understanding, appreciation and passion for the admission process
Travel to fairs, feeder schools, and receptions
Assumes regional responsibility for a portion of the applicant pool: gather and analyze demographic research, leverage current relationships in territory, identify and grow potential markets, offer highly personalized communication with prospective families in territory throughout the application cycle
Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
Interview, counsel, and correspond with prospective students and their families
Must be comfortable engaging in phone conversations with families, educational consultants, and placement directors around the globe
Support pre-assigned virtual monthly events
Read applications and service on the admission committee with other faculty for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating application
Other Duties:
Coach one season of athletics/afternoon activities
Serve as an adviser to a small cohort of students
Participate in committees as assigned by school leadership
Serve in our residential program (1 weeknight a week, 9 weekends a year)
Working Conditions:
Environment: office and indoor classroom working with some outdoor events
Physical demands: able to sit and stand for at least 8 hours per day; must be able to lift 40 lb.
Salary Range: $30,000 - $37,000
