Oak Knoll is seeking a warm, friendly, and good-humored full-time, 12-month Assistant/Associate Director of Upper School Admission to ensure that all visitors have a positive experience with OKS and the efficiency of the admission process. The ideal candidate will be experienced and competent in handling the day to day operations of the Upper School admission process. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and a self-starter. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, the Assistant/Associate Director of Upper School Admission serves as an integral part of the school’s admission team promoting the value proposition of an Oak Knoll education to prospective families and throughout the community, in order to attract and retain a vibrant and diverse student body.

General Description:
The Assistant/Associate Director of Upper School Admission oversees and leads the day to day operations through all stages of the admission process, from recruitment to enrollment, and facilitates the retention efforts and re-enrollment process for the Upper School (grades 7-12). The Assistant/Associate is an integral part of the admission team and works closely with Upper School leadership.
Responsibilities:
Manages the daily operations of the Upper School admission process.
Plans, executes, and continually reviews a variety of Upper School admission events (open houses, school fairs, information sessions, etc.) to allow for a solid flow of qualified applicants to maintain capacity enrollment.
Introduces Oak Knoll to prospective families through an efficient and professional system of handling inquiries, applications, visits, assessments, decision notification, and enrollment.
Works with the Archdiocese of Newark in support of and outreach to Catholic feeder schools.
Participates in organizations and outreach programs which strengthen the commitment of Oak Knoll to being a truly diverse community in support of the school’s mission.
Attends various school and community events throughout the year, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Represents and participates in professional organizations such as NJAIS, EMA, AISAP, ERB, NCGS, and MEC.
Actively participates in all facets of the Student and Parent Ambassador Programs.
Oversees, along with department chairs and registrar, the onboarding process for newly enrolled students.
Plans, in conjunction with administrators and parent ambassadors, welcoming and onboarding new families.
Coordinates advertising and PR efforts with the Director of Enrollment Management and the Director of Communications.
Demonstrates and communicates a strong commitment to the goals of a Holy Child education.
Serves as a member of the Financial Aid Committee.
Works with the Director of Enrollment Management and the Business Office to process the re-enrollment of current families.
Qualifications:
Strong interest in education, working within a tight-knit community of learning, and furthering the goals of Holy Child education.
Strong preference for candidates with 3 to 5 years of admission experience or experience in education. Experience interviewing and working directly with students is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Must be professional; exhibit a personal maturity, show discretion, and effectively deal with different constituencies. Be open and willing to learn admission best practices.
Detail-oriented with highly effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the admission team.
Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends when required.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to use and learn new technologies and student management systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Blackbaud, and SchoolAdmin.
