William Penn Charter School is a Quaker, all gender, pre-K-12 independent, day school in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia. William Penn Charter seeks a full-time (10-month) Admissions Officer to begin in the 2023-24 academic year. The Admissions Officer will perform admissions tasks across divisions that ensure a highly responsive and individualized admissions process for families. The Admissions Officer meets with students individually to assess academic readiness for Penn Charter’s classroom.
The Admissions Officer will lead tours of campus, understand and discuss the admissions process and will serve on admissions committees. The Admissions Officer will meet with families and students and review applications. Discretion is critical in this role, as the work includes personal and financial information of applicants.
Essential Functions
Recruitment
Carry out admissions practices that encourage families to consider applying to and enrolling at Penn Charter
Share information about Penn Charter’s mission and vision to prospective families
Represent Penn Charter at school visits, conferences, fairs, and other events
Assist with on-campus, off-campus, and virtual admissions events
Understand Penn Charter’s curriculum and highlights to share with prospective families
Work with faculty and parent representatives to enroll admitted students
Admissions Process
Determine students’ eligibility for admission and success at Penn Charter
Review complete applications
Communicate with families about admissions process and timelines
Interview applicants and parents/caregivers
Participate in admissions committees to make the best decisions for the school and the applicant
Provide support for and/or supervise short-term projects in the Admissions Office
Other Duties
Support student and parent ambassador programs including PeerPal
Assist in the planning and coordination of admissions events
Facilitate the onboarding process for new families in partnership with the communications office and division directors
Serve on divisional and school wide committees; attend department and divisional faculty meetings
Proctor recess and lunch duties according to a rotating schedule
Participate in occasional evening and weekend admission and community events
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School, Assistant Head of School, and Director of Enrollment Management or their designee

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Quaker Education and the Religious Society of Friends
Experience working in a PK-12 school environment or an admissions office
