Position Overview: The Assistant Director of Admission for Outreach and Engagement is a full-time, twelve-month position that reports to the Director of Enrollment. The Assistant Director for Outreach and Engagement is a member of the Admission Office, whose members work collaboratively to administer all admission-related operations, including processing applications, planning and attending all recruitment events, interviewing families, and serving as a voting member on the Admission Committees. In addition, this Officer works closely with the admission team, the DEIB office, and the Communications Office to create and implement an outreach plan that widens engagement with targeted student populations. In addition, he/she will support the financial aid process.
Recruitment of New Students
Represent Stuart accurately and enthusiastically to prospective families and feeder schools at on-campus and off-campus events and visits in order to attract students who will find success in Stuart’s program of study.
Manage the student tour guide program for the Middle and Upper Schools, which includes selecting, training, and coordinating the tour guides. It also includes building and implementing a comprehensive strategy to engage current students with prospective students during their admissions process.
Partner with CBOs, including Seeds and ABC, to attract and retain top students and to support their progress once enrolled
Support and attend all admission events (evening and weekend hours included) and support and contribute to all admission marketing efforts
Be prepared to give tours in all divisions as needed
Participate fully in school life in order to better understand and communicate the Stuart mission and community.
Application Process Management
Execute an efficient and smooth visitor calendar for the Middle and Upper Schools, which includes securing students for hosting and touring and preparing the weekly visit schedule for distribution to the community
Maintain the integrity of the admission office database system by overseeing the inquiry process and the application process. Included in this responsibility is managing the intake of supporting documents, coordinating with families to ensure the completion of files and receipt of final transcripts, managing the admissions@stuartschool.org inbox, and providing the monthly and annual statistical reporting of inquiries and applicants.
Prepare all documentation needed in preparation for Admission Committee meetings. Participate as a voting member of the Admission Committees.
Support the daily operations of the financial aid process, including assisting in preparing files for the committee.
Additional responsibilities and duties as needed or assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field. Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years experience in admission, communications, or marketing, preferably in a school or non-profit environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience with and understanding of the admission and financial aid process and the unique qualities of independent girls’ schools
Exceptional interpersonal skills with both adults and children
A firm understanding of the trending and most effective tools for communication to reach multiple constituents
Strong writing skills
Experience working with multicultural communities and individuals
Commitment to diversity and inclusivity and possession of the skills necessary to lead in a diverse community and support the implementation of the school’s plan for diversity
Team player, as well as the ability to work independently.
Strong technical skills to support the above.
