Job Description:
The director of communications at Nobles is a key member of the school’s administrative team who reports directly to the head of the school. The director manages a creative team that promotes Noble and Greenough School’s mission, vision, and core values. This team is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive and coordinated efforts to strengthen the awareness and understanding of the broad Nobles program across all constituencies and outside the school’s walls.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop compelling communication in support of the strategic objectives of Noble and Greenough School
Oversee and implement the school’s brand management and ensure continuity of style and visual identity
Guide and execute the creation of timely, accurate communications to students, faculty and staff, parents and guardians, graduates, and other stakeholders
Manage public relations through various media outlets
Provide communications counsel and support to the head of school
Serve as a spokesperson to the press for the school
Collaborate with the head of school and senior leadership team to effectively communicate during times of crisis
Manage the school’s promotional efforts through various social media platforms
Develop a comprehensive content and asset workflow that encompasses email, web, social media, photography, video, direct mail, and long-form print media
Maintain strong engagement in the life of the school and perform other duties as assigned by the head of school
In collaboration with the business office, manage the budget of the communications office operations

Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and plan tactically. They should employ a hands-on approach to develop and execute all marketing and communications initiatives.Finally, the director should enthusiastically represent Nobles as a forward-thinking school with a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
Qualifications and Skills:
A bachelor’s degree and meaningful experience in marketing or communications
Strong skills as a versatile writer, editor, and interviewer
Strong knowledge of video production and photography
Strong skills as an effective communicator and presenter
Ability to balance priorities and multiple projects and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to motivate, engage and work collaboratively across the school and with students
Experience with communications at an educational institution or non-profit is desirable
An established record of collaboration, commitment to collegiality, and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in achieving consensus among diverse administrative and academic departments, students and staff
Strong work ethic and integrity
Demonstrated skills in customer service, presentations, writing, problem-solving, analytical judgment, and time management
Warm, empathetic demeanor with a collaborative and flexible nature
Experience with diverse cultural populations and a demonstrated commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
Availability to work days, in addition to some evenings and weekends throughout the year on campus
