DESCRIPTION: The director of enrollment management is an integral part of the school’s Leadership Team and is responsible for managing all facets of the admissions process in the school’s effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and dynamic student population. This role reports to the Head of School and collaborates with all areas of the school.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Contribute to the mission and standards of the school by recruiting and retaining a diverse student body who will benefit from the school’s unique culture and programmatic offerings and contribute to the school community. ? Formulate forward-thinking, strategic application, admission, and enrollment policies. ? Report directly to the head of school and serve as a liaison to the board of trustees regarding admissions and enrollment. ? Coordinate four essential elements to ensure a competitive admissions process and the long-term health of the student body and broader alumni/ae base: ? admission management (the tracking of prospective students from applicant to enrollment and beyond) ? student retention ? research (analyzing data that affect enrollment) ? marketing (work with marketing committee and outside consultants) ? Develop a strategic recruitment and communication plan to reach targeted audiences, including identifying and implementing best-practice web-based technologies. ? Supervise the Admissions Assistant. ? Work closely with the Director of Business Operations and the Coordinator of Tuition Assistance. ? Oversee enrollment management budgets. ? Partner with the Education Director and Program-level Coordinators in reviewing and evaluating applications for student admissions ? Partner with the Director of Development to identify potential donors – graduates, parents, and the broader community. ? Understand the culture and climate of the school and the broader educational environment. ? Foster high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alumni/ae, parents, and students throughout the admissions process. ? Works in partnership with the DEIJ Director and all school leaders to act against prejudicial and discriminatory practices and systems, and to advance intercultural competencies in all areas of the school.
? A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred ? Five or more years of experience in education, preferably in admissions ? Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a board of trustees ? Exceptional reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills, including an ability to translate ideas and concepts into clear, actionable steps ? Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability display sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy ? Excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to work collaboratively ? Meticulous attention to detail ? Highly organized with the ability to move from task to task with ease ? Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with teammates
