The Montessori School of McLean (MSM) is seeking a Director of Admission to join our dynamic Administrative team for the 2022-2023 school year.
MSM was founded in 1973 with one elementary and one primary classroom. Over the past 49 years it has grown into a thriving school community with nearly 225 students from Toddler through Upper Elementary. Located in the bucolic town of McLean, Virginia, MSM attracts families from across Fairfax and Arlington Counties. With five spacious acres, MSM offers an AMS and Cognia accredited learning environment for students ages 2-12 with toddler, primary, lower elementary, and upper elementary classrooms.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required.
- AMS or AMI Montessori Certification is preferred. However, if not Montessori trained, candidates must be willing and able to study and learn the Montessori Method of education.
- At least three years of experience in an educational setting is required, preferably in a Montessori or other independent school.
- Classroom experience is beneficial.
Position Requirements
- Spearhead the inquiry-to-enrollment process of new applicants, with a keen awareness of matching school needs to mission appropriate candidates.
- Work closely with the Director of Advancement to promote brand awareness in the community through Admission Fairs and community events.
- Organize and conduct School Tours and Information Sessions throughout Admissions season.
- Provide guidance and input in the creation of Marketing Communications materials that support Admissions and Marketing.
- Prepare and maintain a pertinent, orderly, and attractive Enrollment Package.
- Strong organizational skills required for the maintenance of important written records, including tour schedules, child visit schedules, student records, applicant teacher recommendations, and attrition reports.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with prospective parents in person, by phone, and by email.
- Coordinate with Classroom Teachers to ensure the best placement for newly enrolled students to allow for social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Strong analytical skills for tracking enrollment, retention, and attrition trends in the student population.
- Experience with technology solutions, including Zoom, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and database applications.
