Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Admission and Enrollment is a key member of the senior administrative team and will oversee all aspects of admission and enrollment. The Director collaborates extensively with the Marketing and Communications Department to develop an outreach program that expands Westmark’s network of schools and professionals. The Director is responsible for new family onboarding, student retention programming, and external outreach that aligns with Westmark’s mission, vision and values. The Director maintains a welcoming presence and interprets the unique mission and values of Westmark and the benefits for students attending the school.
Essential Responsibilities:
Admission
Translates Westmark’s mission, curriculum, and educational philosophy to prospective families; Assures that all forms of communications among constituents including education professionals, psychologists, and prospective parents are timely, accurate, and consistent with the Westmark vision, values, and branding;
- Utilizes and analyzes data and integrates research of child development into admission practices to track trends and metrics;
- Develops and maintains data tracking system focusing on student profiles and enrollment data for reporting and to improve program development; and
- Continually evaluates and makes improvements to all aspects of the Admission plan.
Enrollment Strategy
With the Head of School, Board Chair, and Director of Finance and Operations, establishes and strategically sets admission goals with the objective of maintaining a capacity enrollment and a wait – list of qualified applicants;
- Designs a five-year roadmap to build and maintain demand, increase revenue, and increase enrollment;
- Utilizes a dashboard approach to measure metrics and lead data-informed decisions regarding enrollment planning; and
- Amplifies enrollment as a key revenue strategy supporting long-term financial sustainability.
Community and Program Leader
- Strengthens collaboration with an admission process that values teacher-input balanced with achieving enrollment goals;
- Inspires Westmark constituents to cultivate rich community values, promotes Westmark’s mission, and fosters ownership for the school’s enrollment strategy;
- Collaborates with the Advancement Department to inspire and educate new families on the important of parent engagement and philanthropy;
- Observes classes on a regular basis while working closely with faculty and instructional coaches to gain an intimate and detailed understanding of Westmark’s dynamic teaching methodologies; and
- Becomes a positive presence in the life of the school.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and successful track record in strategic admission and enrollment management
- Experience as a respected school administrator and people manager holding a key position on the senior leadership team
- Rigorous work ethic balanced with compassion and a desire to work with neurodiverse individuals
- Readiness to support all learning journeys within a diverse student population
- An understanding of language-based learning disabilities through personal and/or professional experience; knowledge of diagnoses, treatments, therapies, and educational approaches for language-based learning disabilities
- A record of personal success in roles which required self-sufficiency, initiative and independent action
