Rogers Park Montessori School is a community of families and educators guided by the philosophy of Maria Montessori. The school is an independent, non-sectarian, co-educational day school located in the West Andersonville/Bowmanville neighborhood on the north side of Chicago. We offer education and afterschool programming for children from ages 2-14 We are accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Independent Schools Association of Central States (ISACS).
RPMS is looking for a Director of Admission and Enrollment Management to champion the benefits of a Montessori-based education, our unique culture and programmatic offerings. We seek candidates who have a firm grounding in equity and inclusion work and see the inherent value in a diverse community. The Director of Admissions serves as an ambassador for the school, representing RPMS in community outreach. It is also the first point of contact for prospective parents and students. This position is key to helping us enhance and grow our strong community.
The Director of Admission reports directly to the Principal and is responsible for the recruitment and retention of students. The ideal candidate understands the value of working collaboratively to build marketing, communication and recruitment strategies, has experience with admissions and enrollment processes, and has a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Serving as the primary contact with prospective parents, managing a caseload of about 125 applicants per year, responding to inquiries, providing tours, and information on programs and culture of RPMS.
Developing a deep understanding of Montessori education, RPMS and its community.
Working closely with the Director of Communications on the marketing and advertising of RPMS.
Managing the Financial Aid program.
Achieving annual enrollment goals.
Modeling sensitivity to economic, cultural, and other issues in the enrollment of a diverse student population.
Managing all new and returning student enrollment.
Facilitating appropriate assessment, interviews and shadow visits of prospective students.
Tracking enrollment and attrition and all statistics related to inquiries, tours, applications, and diversity.
Coordinating communications to parents regarding contracts, medical records and other required forms ensuring they are collected and up to date.
Managing the annual ISBE reporting (medical, dental and vision).
Working with parents on any programmatic changes and ensuring all necessary parties are notified.
Participating on any sub-committees of the board, as needed, related to admissions objectives.
Participating in the life of the school (outside of school general hours), as necessary.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively
Experience working in a Montessori or Independent school environment
Experience with various platforms such as Google Suite, FAST, Veracross, SchoolAdmin
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Sense of humor
Flexibility to new ideas
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
