The Tatnall School seeks an exceptional candidate to join the school's marketing and communicationsteam. Working with the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Media and CommunicationsSpecialist's primary responsibility is developing content for the school's internal and externalcommunications with the ultimate goal of supporting the school's mission and priorities. Areas of focuswill include but not be limited to enrollment, fundraising, and increasing the engagement of variousconstituencies and stakeholders. Candidates must have experience writing for a variety of mediums toconnect constituents to Tatnall, including digital and print publications, newsletters, e-blasts, and otherdigital marketing and web content. The ideal candidate thrives working collaboratively and being part of acommunity.
Provide support for communications from other areas within the school. Ensure allcommunications uphold the school's mission, values, and brand proposition and adhere to writingstandards. May include drafting, proofreading, editing, and publishing written communications orpresentations.
Create, edit, and distribute content for numerous school-wide communications, including weeklyand monthly e-newsletters, school-wide emails, the school magazine, digital media vehicles, andnumerous annual publications.
Assume the role of "campus reporter," connect with faculty to seek out stories, propose ideas, anddevelop content to highlight students' great successes and learning.
Visit classroom lessons and school events to prepare written content for distribution.
Produce, approve, and publish web content and on-going updates to the external and internalschool website.
Working in conjunction with the Social Media Coordinator, assist with the creation of socialmedia content. Including daily posts, maintaining scheduling calendars, and paid media adsacross several platforms.
Partner with the Director of Marketing and Communications in media relations, proactivelypitching stories to appropriate media outlets.
Assist with crisis communications, drafting content for communications. Possibly requiringavailability outside of business hours with a prompt response and/or delivering communications.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, journalism, or related field
Minimum of three years of communications experience in a face-paced environment (preferably in an educational setting)
Excellent oral and written communications skills, exhibiting strong grammatical knowledge, and AP style.
Experience with content management systems, email, and social media platforms. Ability to use Google Apps, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Blackbaud On Suite, and Adobe products.
Ability to effectively meet deadlines and work in a diverse academic environment
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and continuously improve communication efforts.
Commitment to teamwork and the ability to collaborate with all levels of faculty and staff to align communications materials with the school's missions
