Under the supervision of the Director of Communications & Marketing the Multimedia Communications Specialist will manage LHP’s official school social media sites and provide support with digital and traditional communications and marketing. This is a full time, 12 month fully benefited exempt position.
Essential skills include: expertise in social media platforms and willingness to learn and grow with emerging social media trends; creativity in identifying ways to engage all audiences; strong writing and editing skills; experience in digital and traditional marketing practices; active collaboration with colleagues; customer-service tone and approach; independent problem solving; willingness to work outside of school operating hours when necessary.
Social Media • Stays current on platforms in use and emerging platforms with ongoing research and professional development • Manages official school pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) • Coordinates with other departments on content (soliciting information and monitoring what’s posted on other school-sponsored sites) • Creates effective and engaging graphics for social media (using Canva, Adobe, or other programs) • Posts reminders that are helpful to the school community • Approves the creation of new social media sites in other departments and divisions • Maintains all social media login information for school-managed and school sponsored sites • Responds to questions posted on school social media pages with accuracy, timeliness, and empathy (modeling love, concern, and mutual respect) • Provides frequent engagement reports • Seeks to improve engagement with interesting content and effective storytelling • Schedules posts using Hootsuite or another similar platform • Monitors tagging of school and social media presence beyond what the school is posting • Maintains and updates social media standards annually • Coordinates with Website & Digital Marketing Specialist and Director of Communications & Marketing on ideas about leveraging social media for advertising and promotions • Maintains a personal social media presence that aligns with the school’s social media policy and mission
Positive PR • Shares Positive Public Relations - regularly provides local media outlets with positive stories (most often aligning with social media content) - Compiles monthly report of social media and news media mentions
Online reputation monitoring o Monitor online reputation and review sites for information about LHP o Update online school profiles annually
Digital Marketing • Gather and analyze social media and web data to inform digital marketing strategies • Research digital marketing trends and offer valuable insights into the evolution of the school’s digital marketing efforts • Implementing and update online advertising campaigns (Google Ads, social media advertising, and targeted online campaigns) • Promote school admissions, Highlander Summer camps, and other programs initiatives online
Additional Responsibilities • Work with team to implement new software and communication tools to elevate digital communication efforts • Cross-training as needed • Additional duties as assigned
