Allen-Stevenson is looking for an Associate Director of Communications to join the three-person Communications team to help tell a compelling story about Allen-Stevenson. This individual will have a high energy level, be emotionally mature, with a good sense of humor, and have the flexibility and sensitivity to work with diverse personalities and situations.
This full-time position, which will begin in June 2021, reports to the Director of Communications and is eligible for our complete benefits package.
Principal Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Help manage the quality and consistency of the brand across all platforms, departments, activities and events at the school, both from a visual and voice perspective.
Use graphic design to create a variety of marketing materials
Oversee social media for the School; create a social media calendar and post all content on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
Help manage website content, including master calendar
Produce and edit video content for website and social media
Manage content for weekly parent e-newsletter, ASpect, and monthly faculty & staff e-newsletter
Support the Director of Communications in the production of the School magazine, Lamplighter, and with the creation of other marketing initiatives
Teach the Upper School Yearbook Elective and oversee its design and content through to completion of the Yearbook
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge and Expectations
At least 7 years of marketing and communications experience
Strong artistic sense in graphics, photography and video
Proven writing and editorial skills with an ability to produce materials quickly and in a variety of styles
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
Interest and ability in working with children
Desire to work closely with faculty to understand and explain the program
Resourceful and attentive to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of Photoshop/Lightroom and Adobe InDesign
The final candidates will complete a process that includes an interview by telephone or Zoom with the Director of Communications and some group interviews.
