THE POSITION DETAILS
Assist in the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students in grade 6 – 12 and supports the implementation of the financial assistance programs.
With Director of Enrollment Management, provide strategic leadership for the department, including development and review of office policies and procedures.
With the Enrollment Management Team, facilitate the Student of Color Recruitment and Retention Plan, including revisions as necessary Provide strategic leadership for enrollment management (including admissions and re-enrollment procedures).
Evaluate student applications for admission, make admissions decisions for student applicants, and advise and work collaboratively with the appropriate admissions committees.
Serve on the Financial Aid Committee. Coordinate social equity program, including reimbursements, fee waivers and textbook purchasing.
Develop and coordinate Student Ambassador Program working collaboratively with other school divisions.
With the Enrollment Management Team, maintain current and historical student enrollment records, inquiry data, and demographic information. Design and maintain statistical reports concerning enrollment trends, market demand, and demographic analysis.
Serve on appropriate Trustee and faculty committees. Collaborate with other school departments in articulating and executing strategic enrollment management and school development.
With the Enrollment Management Team, represent the school at external events to provide information to prospective families. Provide robust engagement with prospective parents in on-campus and virtual admissions events.
With the Enrollment Management Team, serve as resource for currently enrolled parents and students about the school’s various programs.
With the Enrollment Management Team, collaborate with communications teams to develop and manage robust marketing plan.
Engages actively in the school’s diversity, inclusion, and anti-racismwork in furtherance of Cary Academy’s commitment to equity and justice. In conjunction with manager, identifies and pursues ongoing professional development. Completes all required administrative, operational, and professional development tasks and activities in a responsive and timely manner per school operating policies and procedures. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
The individual in this position must possess the following knowledge and/or skills:
Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of software packages in a Windows environment.
Knowledge of admissions processes and operations, preferably in an independent school environment.
Excellent computer skills with prior database management experience
The individual in this potion must have the ability and is expected to:
Handle a multi-priority, deadline-oriented work environment.
Travel periodically to local & regional education fairs to represent the school.
Work collegially with employees, parents and members of the Cary Academy and external community in a highly collaborative environment. Work effectively with vendors, contractors, and/or other business partners, professionals, and outside organizations.
Maintain confidentiality and interact with students, parents, and employees as well as internal and external constituents with sensitivity and understanding.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Experience: 3 - 5 years experience in independent schools or college admissions.
Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
