Sant Bani School is searching for a talented and professional Communications & Advancement Manager to join our Advancement and External Affairs team. At the direction of the Director of Advancement and External Affairs, the Communications and Advancement Manager will focus on the day-to-day overall communications of SBS including, but not limited to, website content, social media updates, email marketing, database updates and gifts procession. In this position, you’ll serve as a support and partner to other areas of the school ensuring all programs are brought to life and maintain brand consistency.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Website
Maintain up-to-date content on the School website.
Work with other team members to review and refresh content sections.
Work with the Technology department to use content from teacher newsletters on the school website.
Work with the Director of Advancement on a plan to implement a new website. Timeline TBD.
Monitor analytics and compile and submit regular traffic updates to inform website updates and changes.
Social Media
Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy for SBS across social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and other google accounts as needed.
Create and maintain a social media calendar that ensures the school is promoting all major themes of the School.
Work closely with faculty and other team members to promote grade-specific and interest-specific programs.
Writing and Email
Work with the Director of Advancement to develop story ideas for website, social media and public relations.
Write short articles for the website that highlight accomplishments of students, faculty, and alumni.
Use Mailchimp to send Advancement-focused emails. These will include fundraising emails, alumni relations emails, event invitations, and other emails as necessary. Review analytics to recommend actionable changes to email strategy with the goal of increasing engagement and optimizing results.
Work with the Technology department to learn the process to send other emails to our current families.
Work with the Director of Advancement and print vendors for the strategy, layout, and content of the alumni magazine, The Trumpet.
Database and Gift Processing (in conjunction with the Director of Advancement)
Process gifts that come to the school through website, checks, and stock transfer.
Work with the business office to reconcile to the general ledger and update reporting once/week.
Update constituent information in the database as needed.
Pull reports and lists from the database as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree required.
3-5 years experience in fundraising, marketing, and communications (preferably in a school setting).
Excellent interpersonal skills, including a strong writing and social media background.
Experience in Photoshop or other graphic design platforms are a plus.
Photography and videography skills are also a plus!
Willingness to wear many hats when necessary given the needs of a small, PK-8 school.
You are ethical, enthusiastic, joyful, transparent, a self-starter, and mission driven.
You have a sense of humor and understand that sometimes your day doesn’t go as planned.
