The Admission Associate reports directly to the Director of Enrollment Management and is responsible for managing the Admission office in a manner that reflects the mission and values of Kentucky Country Day School through a great deal of contact with prospective and current families. The Admission Associate is an integral part of a three-person office whose primary responsibility is as the Admission office’s first point of contact for prospective students and families. The Admission Associate is considered the front desk of the Admission office, responsible for answering phones, coordinating tours, testing, planning admission events and school visits for prospective students and families. The Admission Associate plays the key role in making a positive first impression on prospective families and the greater Kentucky Country Day School community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Represent Kentucky Country Day School to prospective families with information about all aspects of academics, arts, athletics, and student and community life.
Serve as initial point of contact for the admission office; maintain contact with prospective students and families by answering questions, making/returning phone calls, responding to email messages, referring families to appropriate resources.
Coordinate campus visits for prospective students; lead campus tours, facilitate classroom visits.
Coordinate receipt and tracking of application materials and documents during application process
Assists Director of Enrollment Management with planning and promoting special on-campus and remote admission events.
Working non-traditional work hours, including evenings and weekends, primarily for phone contact with prospective students and families.
Report regularly to the Director of Enrollment Management regarding admission activities, number of inquiries, and status of applicants.
Assist with tours, admissions events, and community outreach when necessary.
Perform other admission duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in JK-12 education or admissions preferred .
Maintain a positive attitude, respectful and cheerful interactions, and a welcoming atmosphere for the entire KCD community, including but not limited to prospective students and families, current students and families and colleagues.
Excellent written and oral communication skills: ability to convey complex information in an articulate and engaging manner.
Must be comfortable speaking/presenting to individuals and groups in a positive and professional manner.
Ability to listen attentively, to relate and to respond to concerns in an appropriate manner with sensitivity, tact, and confidentiality.
Experience communicating in a professional manner with diverse groups of families from different socioeconomic, ethic, religious, and geographic backgrounds.
Skill in conversing and conveying information, expressing oneself clearly and confidently.
Attention to detail is essential, along with strong organizational skills and effective time management skills.
Proficiency with the Google Suite and experience with Blackbaud preferred.
Computer literacy and experience with internet research and navigation.
