North Country School is seeking a Director of Admission who will support the evolution of our visionary educational philosophy, while preserving and adapting the purposeful traditions and second-to-none signature programs that for over 80 years have transformed our students' lives.
In 2021, North Country School is capitalizing on its current position of strength as a thought leader of the “in-between years” to pursue the ambitious strategic goal of expanding its reach, while also adapting and continuously improving on its approach to education.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Admission oversees North Country School’s recruitment strategy, enrollment, and financial aid. The Director of Admission is a key member of the institution’s senior administrative team. This thought-leadership position requires close collaboration with our school program to assure excellence in attracting, evaluating, and enrolling students in our unique boarding and day school for children in grades 4-9.
With an emphasis on strategy and creativity, lead the school’s enrollment management process of attracting, enrolling, and retaining mission-fit students; develop and implement a data-driven, market-sensitive, goal-oriented enrollment plan to reach targeted audiences for grades 4-9.
Cultivate relationships with families through articulating the benefits of a North Country School education and involve the faculty and staff to act as ambassadors of the enrollment process
Develop deep knowledge of the NCS experience by collaborating with administrators to thoroughly understand the curriculum and unique programs
Optimize the financial aid process by adhering to established means of aid determination and an established budget.
Lead and engage direct reports by establishing performance expectations; analyze key performance indicators; coach and mentor; and provide constructive feedback
Provide meaningful reporting that will support strategic methods of improving recruitment and engagement with students/parents.
Connect with students, engage in academic life and extracurricular activities, and actively participate in the community.

The ability to work weekends, evenings, and travel domestically and internationally
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of independent school administrative, staff supervisory, and budget management experience required.
Advanced degree and admissions experience preferred

Founded in 1938, North Country School (NCS) sits in the heart of the mountains in the six-million-acre Adirondack Park, of which two million acres is forest preserve.
