Assistant Director of Communications is tasked with creating, capturing, editing, and sharing visual and written content that is consistent with the School’s mission and vision. This content works to service the School’s admissions, advancement, alumni, academic, and student life goals for both internal and external audiences.
The Assistant Director of Communications is a 12-month position and works under the Director of Communications to maintain the School’s content marketing strategy, online and traditional advertising, publications, website, social media, public relations, and internal communications strategies.
Background in marketing, communications, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Must have excellent writing and editing skills
Develop in-house videos
Researches write and edit at least 5-7 news stories per week
Collaborates with students, faculty, and staff members to create stories for weekly Forman e-communications to community
Writing and coordinating Viewbook and other recruiting materials
Demonstrates respect for diversity of identities and experiences, an orientation toward equity and inclusion, and cultural competency
Writing for the Annual Report, the Forman Letter, alumni profiles, fundraising solicitations, and admission recruiting materials
Develops strategies and campaigns for Forman’s social media presence, and creates pathway to involve other members of Forman’s community
Experience with digital photography
Experience with Macintosh computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe
Knowledge of content marketing and search engine optimization a plus
Supports Director of Communications with print advertising and on-going communication of Forman events, successes, and stories
Superb organization, time management, and communications skills
Other duties as assigned
3+ years in a related field
