The Bement School is a coeducational day/boarding school serving students in grades K-9, with an enrollment of 220 students.  Located on Old Main Street in Deerfield, MA, the school occupies a unique relationship with a beautiful and historic community.

The Bement School is seeking a full-time, 12 month Assistant or Associate Director of Admission. This person will work closely and collaboratively with the Director of Admission concerning all aspects of the admission process and to support the mission of the admission office to attract, enroll, and retain the most qualified applicants to the school. The Assistant or Associate Director of Admission assists in all areas of admissions and recruiting which may include travel, candidate interviewing and talking with families, follow-up correspondence with candidates and families, database maintenance, mailings, and publication revisions. Necessary skills include strong writing and communication skills, exceptional organizational skills to plan project timelines and adhere to deadlines, ability to manage multiple projects, initiative, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Prior independent school admission experience is preferred, but not required. Background and/or training in DEI related topics a plus. Sense of humor, passion for working with young people, and a commitment to independent school education are essential.

 Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee communication with prospective students and families.
• Planning, organization, and execution of recruitment and retention events both on and off campus.
• Represent the school at off-campus events including evening and weekend fairs and receptions.
• Coordinate and conduct all campus visits and direct Blue Key Student Ambassador Program.
• Cultivate relationships with feeder schools/programs and educational consultants.
• Conduct an average of eight interviews per week during peak admissions season.
• Evaluate student files and is a member of the Admission Committee.
• Assist with special projects upon request related to admissions marketing and communications, and DEI efforts.
• Coach one athletic season.

Other school responsibilities may include other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Director of Admission in order to support the mission of the admission office and meet the annual enrollment goals.
