Director of Enrollment Management & Financial Aid Date Modified: December 2020 FLSA Classification: Exempt Reports To: Head of School Position Purpose: The Director of Enrollment Management & Financial Aid oversees and directs the admission program to achieve the school’s enrollment goals and support the school’s mission. Starting Date: July 1, 2021 Shorecrest Preparatory School seeks a Director of Enrollment Management & Financial Aid to oversee all aspects of admissions, recruitment and financial aid and direct the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to capture and communicate the core values of a Shorecrest education. This senior-level administrator reports directly to the Head of School. The Director should be a team player who has a warm collaborative nature, positive energy, sense of humor, and possesses superior organization and prioritization skills. The successful candidate will be an accomplished manager who understands both systems and personnel, and demonstrates a commitment to guide Shorecrest in a strategic, data-driven approach to enrollment management. Primary Roles and Responsibilities include: - Represent Shorecrest and serve as the face of the school to the school and broader community and with prospective families, while communicating the mission
- Develop admission criteria and goals for approval by the Head of School
- Develop and implement an admission process and calendar that supports
the school’s mission and goals - Oversee all admissions activities including individual and group tours, student shadow visits, curricular information sessions, student observations/testing/interview, parent to parent connections, and individual family conversations
- Administer the school’s Financial Aid program, working with the school’s Chief Financial Officer and Head of School, chair the Financial Aid Committee, oversee policy decisions, messaging/communications, award review meetings, and efforts with community partners.
- Coordinate with School Heads and the Head of School on the application process for candidates and their families
- Lead retention efforts in conjunction with School Heads
- Work with the Director of Diversity & Inclusion on the Trustee Scholars selection process and other recruitment efforts
- Coordinate the staffing of employees, students and volunteers for all admissions activities
- Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications on the development of the admissions materials and other media that support admission goals and promote the school
- Oversee the International Student Admissions and Marketing Program
- Work with the Advancement Office to foster new parent relationships and specifically the Director of Alumni Engagement to manage the Parents and Student Ambassadors Program
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies including area schools, preschools, consultants, admissions directors and organizations and create networking opportunities.
- Prepare the admissions budget and operates the department within the budgetary guidelines
- Maintain admissions and enrollment statistics and provides status, historical information and achievement reports to administrators and the Board of Trustees
- Manage the Admissions Office staff, including providing clear communication regarding responsibilities, practices, and feedback.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of School
Qualifications: - BA degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 5+ years of educational administrative experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills
- Proficient in educational software and technology
- Committed to inclusion and issues of social justice and equity
