Working closely with senior administration the Director of Communications (“DOC”) will set and guide the strategy for all internal and external print and digital communications and media, website, and public relations messages to consistently articulate Tabor Academy’s mission. The DOC’s work will advance Tabor’s position as an academic leader, as well as to drive broader awareness of our mission and uniqueness; encourage elite and diverse student applicants; attract leading faculty; and enhance donor support. The DOC will be responsible for Tabor’s varied and integrated communications’ products and services including print publications, website, e-newsletters and other online communications, social media, public relations, and marketing. The DOC will be the critical “engagement agent” for all Tabor constituencies. The DOC reports to the Interim Head of School and serves on the Senior Leadership Team.
In collaboration with Tabor’s Leadership Team, implement an integrated strategic communications’ plan to advance Tabor’s brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and strategic priorities, and increase the visibility of its programs across key
Manage and oversee the development and distribution of all Tabor’s print communications and photographs, marketing collateral material, social media and digital communications including the website, e-news/letters; manage relationships with associated
Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action.
Identify key analytics and align message to improve delivery of Tabor
Put communications’ vehicles in place both to create momentum and awareness and to test the effectiveness of communications’
Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by Tabor. Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support solutions and strategies
Actively engage, cultivate and manage local press relationships to ensure appropriate coverage surrounding Tabor’s programs, special events, public announcements and other
Develop domestic and global communication
Manage a communications’ team to support the development and execution of Tabor’s communications’

Computer proficiency and solid working knowledge of relevant technology. Ability to learn and become proficient with emerging technology as required
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed
Experience & Education – Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree in communication or an MBA with a marketing concentration preferred; 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications with knowledge of the industry’s best practices, including media relations, branding, social media, and messaging.
