This is an exciting opportunity for an Admissions Officer (preferably with prior experience at a boarding school) to join The MacDuffie School’s Admissions Team. Founded in 1890, The MacDuffie School is a very close knit community which has a rich tradition. Located in Granby, Massachusetts, in the beautiful Pioneer Valley, we are a boarding and day school for boys and girls in grades six through twelve. The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions will play a key role in assisting with all day-to-day aspects of admissions responsibilities.
The candidate must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, representing The MacDuffie School at local, national, and international fairs; visit with secondary school placement officers at junior boarding and day feeder schools; and meet with educational consultants and agents. S/he will take part in Open Houses which occur on several Saturdays throughout the year.
S/he will conduct admissions interviews, follow-up with students/families during the application process, and play a key role in the evaluation process as a member of both the Admissions Committee and Financial Aid Committee.
The candidate should be a collaborative team player who has the ability to take initiative, have an enthusiastic and outgoing personality, and be very comfortable with technology and the use of databases. The candidate should also have excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
S/he will serve as The MacDuffie School’s Principal Designated Official for SEVIS / Department of Homeland Security, and attend faculty meetings and other school meetings/events.
The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions will assist the Director of Enrollment Management with other duties as assigned.
