Belmont Day School seeks a dynamic and engaging individual with excellent administrative and organization skills to join the admissions team. This position will begin on July 1, 2020. This is a full-time 10-month academic year position reporting to the director of admissions. This is an exempt and benefit-eligible position.
Conduct prospective parent interviews and tours that reflect a deep knowledge of the school’s academic, athletic, and artistic programs
Draft personalized communications to prospective parents and students at important steps of the admission cycle, and respond in a timely manner to prospective parent emails and phone calls
Complete interview and student assessment notes in a timely fashion
Oversee the school’s financial aid program and budget, including developing and communicating the program mission, timeline, and policies with all current and prospective families, reviewing all financial aid applications and supporting tax documentation, making initial award recommendations and running financial aid committee meetings
Assist in the planning and preparation for open house and revisit events, including completion of event planning forms, management of event logistics, and solicitation of faculty for participation
Support all prospective student assessment visits, including planning and preparing for student group visits, preparing testing materials, and coordinating with faculty
Review all applicant files and participate in admission committees
Prepare daily mailings of inquiry packets to prospective families
Administer one-one-one student assessments when necessary
Share the responsibility of representing Belmont Day at preschool and diversity fairs, and other outreach events; this includes one or two weekend events
Assist the director of admissions in leading the school’s student ambassador program
Recruit and liaise with parent ambassadors to support admission events and activities

Bachelor’s degree required
A minimum of 3 years of admissions experience in an independent school
Ability to manage multiple detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience administering a financial aid program and knowledge of the School and Student Services system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong cultural competency and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated customer service orientation
Knowledge of Ravenna preferred
