Cathedral School for Boys (est. 1957) is an Episcopal, K-8 school of 264 students located in San Francisco. The Assistant Director of Admissions position is an exempt, twelve-month, full-time administrative position that reports directly to the Director of Admission. Candidates should

In addition to the responsibilities typically associated with admission office management and recruitment, the Assistant Director is also responsible for managing and growing many of the School’s outreach efforts and relationships with partner organizations. These efforts include serving as a liaison with various Bay Area organizations (like SMART and ABC) that help place capable middle school students at Cathedral. The Assistant Director will also be expected to develop and manage Cathedral’s recently established Community Scholarship Program. This Program is designed to attract high-achieving, underrepresented students to our Upper School (grades 5-8). Funded through a generous endowment commitment, Cathedral expects to admit students through the Program in the 2020-21 academic year.
This position begins in July of 2020.

A Bachelor’s degree is required (a Master’s degree is preferred).
Educational experience or experience in a related professional field.
A proven track record of work in admissions or programmatic development in independent school is helpful.
The ability and willingness to both think and plan strategically as well as manage the day-to-day tasks and work typically associated with school admissions, e.g., data entry, timely correspondence, report generation, file management.
Previous experience with CRM or school admissions software such as OnBoard / Blackbaud Student Enrollment Management System is helpful.
Prior success in launching school or organization-wide initiatives is helpful.
Superb written and oral communication skills.
The ability to communicate effectively through personal conversations, public speaking, and written correspondence is essential.
A history or experience with managing institutional marketing and communications efforts is helpful.
