Our busy and dynamic Head of School is seeking a resourceful and detail-oriented individual to provide both administrative support and communications assistance. This position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills along with comfort in writing, editing and social media. The successful candidate will interact with a wide range of constituents—students, parents, donors, external partners, and more. He or she should possess excellent problem-solving skills along with tact, discretion, and flexibility.
Administrative Responsibilities and Executive Assistance:
Maintain Head of School’s calendar, triage, prioritize, set and track appointments;
Monitor phone calls and visitors, take detailed messages, problem-solve, provide information when questions emerge, and communicate on behalf of Head of School as requested.
Keep documentation and workplans for senior leadership team initiatives, coordinate follow-ups and tasks.
Create Powerpoint, Word, and Excel presentations for Head of School and senior leaders as requested
Communicate with parents, donors, and other community members when there is a perceived problem, concern or question. Skillfully and diplomatically resolve challenges, including referring callers to the correct department head, director, teacher, or office
Draft and edit correspondence for Head of School including letters to the community, memos, follow-up emails, thank you notes, policies, etc.
Manage Head of School blog post including editing, graphics, video production, and use of other digital media tools.
Manage Head of School social media presence by posting regularly and gathering appropriate photos and videos which are aligned with strategic priorities.
Assist marketing and advancement teams with creation of digital marketing materials, graphically designed materials, invitations, power points, social media posts, short videos, photos, and website updates.
Develop and maintain systems for communication, file sharing, and documentation
Board of Trustees Support & External Affairs
Serve as the main administrative liaison to Board of trustees. Responsible for meetings, calendars, and providing information to trustees as needed
Prepare Board meeting and board retreat materials and coordinate meeting details (locations, refreshments, etc.)
Attend evening Board meetings as requested and maintain the official minutes
Maintain Board and committee records
Assist in the logistics and execution of school events, both during the school day and on weekends and evenings.
A BA is required. At least 5 years work experience preferred.

Excellent attention to detail
Ability to build positive relationships with external constituents and with a diverse set of faculty and staff
Good writing and editing skills
Digital media skills (basic graphic design, simple video production, social media, etc.)
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment, juggling multiple priorities
Independence and initiative, coupled with interpersonal sensitivity and humility
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Flexibility regarding work tasks and schedules
Technologically literate in all key business support systems (word/excel/powerpointl)
The following skills are not required but would be helpful for the job:
Adobe and other graphic programs
General technological curiosity and acumen
