Abington Friends School (AFS), an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school in Jenkintown, PA, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Admission for Upper School. This is a twelve-month, full-time position. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or higher and will bring energy, humor, strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced office are essential skills. Independent School or College Admission experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
helping to identify new family prospects;
responding to and cultivating admission inquiries;
coordinating student visits and the selection and training of student hosts;
interviewing parents and prospective middle and upper school students;
assessing candidate applications and leading the Upper School Admission Committee;
planning and participating in open houses, school events and orientation programs;
availability to work occasional nights and weekends;
cultivating relationships with area schools, organizations and

Familiarity with admission software such as SchoolAdmin and Blackbaud K-12
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office and Google platforms
