Doane Academy, an independent day school for children aged 3 through grade 12, seeks a full-time Admission Associate. The Admission Associate works directly with the Director of Admission and performs a wide variety of duties to advance the work of the Admission Office.
Reporting to the Director of Admission, the Admission Associate assists in all aspects of enrollment management. The successful candidate will possess a collaborative spirit and eagerness to work with all members of the school community, including administrators, faculty, families, and students. The Admission Associate’s primary responsibilities include the following:
Present the school to prospective students and parents, including the thorough and efficient handling of applications and communication;
With the Director of Admission, conduct interviews with families and applicants;
Follow admission inquiries and applications in process to completion;
Serve as a member of the admission committees and evaluating applications for admission;
Serve as the coordinator for international admission applications and, in doing so, overseeing the review of international applicants and serving as the main point of contact for international student agencies;
With the Director of Admission, maintain admissions database and generate enrollment management data reports;
Plan and execute admission open house events;
With the Director of Admission, recruit and train student ambassador tour guides;
With the Director of Admission, plan and execute student visiting days;
With the Director of Admission and division heads, plan and execute new student orientation programs;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission.
Experience and Qualifications
Ability to connect with a variety of people and constituencies within and outside of the school community
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including exceptional writing and speaking skills
An understanding of, and commitment to, Doane Academy’s mission
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Facility with media of all forms (social, print, broadcast, etc.)
Ability to model and exercise good judgment and discretion, and maintain complete confidentiality
Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed
Proficiency in, and experience with, Microsoft Office and database management systems strongly preferred
Experience with enrollment management and admissions preferred
Independent school experience a plus
