Milton Academy is an independent coeducational national and international boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K-12, on a 125-acre campus eight miles south of Boston.
The Admission Office seeks a Director of K-8 Admissions to manage all aspects of the K-8 admission process at Milton Academy in coordination with the K-12 Dean of Admission and Enrollment. The Director of K-8 Admissions will lead a team of admissions officers and support staff through processing a high number of admissions applications for a few, select admissions spots.
Key Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead the K-8 admission program
In conjunction with the Dean of Enrollment and Financial Aid, develop and implement admission policies and procedures for the K-8 program at Milton Academy
Direct admission outreach and student recruitment efforts
Oversee K-8 enrollment
Chair admission committees
Coordinate admission-related marketing and publications
Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have at least 5 years of experience in elementary education that demonstrates an understanding of the development of young children and the work of an admissions program in an independent school environment. At least 3 years of supervisory experience. Preferred candidates will have experience in a K-8 independent school environment; experience with the portal admissions database; classroom teaching.
Other required experience and abilities include superior computer and database skills. Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must understand issues of confidentiality. Must be receptive to supervision and professional development.
