Fort Worth Academy is recognized as a leader in progressive education for students in grades K-8. Founded in 1982, the Academy is home to more than 200 students engaged in an innovative approach to teaching and learning that moved the school to the national and international forefront of education. The Academy offers an experience expertly designed for the foundation years: kindergarten through grade eight. Small class sizes of no more than fifteen students ensure every child receives highly personalized attention. The Director of Admission and Outreach is responsible for all aspects of the Academy’s admissions process and community outreach efforts. The Director oversees the admission and enrollment processes, from the first communication with an inquiring family, to enrollment and ensuring the family feels at home and connected within the greater Academy family. The Director is a lead team member in organizing on-campus events, building internal and external relationships and cultivating an optimistic and positive school culture.
The Director will serve as the Academy ambassador within the community, broadening awareness of and promoting the Academy by identifying and cultivating relationships with local preschools, community organizations, local associations, school related professionals, and area educational leaders. The Director will develop and maintain these relationships through an energetic, passionate and thoughtful approach. Being a visible and consistent presence within the community, the Director will create every opportunity to bring visitors to the campus and share the Academy’s story. The Director will work with the Director of Communications to develop a community outreach and Academy awareness plan. The Director reports to the Head of School, is a member of the school's senior leadership team and advancement team. This is a full time, year round position.
Overseeing admissions and enrollment processes
Developing and creating powerful relationships within the community, specifically with feeder preschools, programs, local associations, and community organizations
Gathering, analyzing and reporting admission data, trends, and projections to the advancement team and Board of Trustees
Developing and maintaining a vibrant and rigorous Parent Ambassador program to welcome new families, retain current families and build positive community engagement within the school.
A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in counseling or education, with school admission experience preferred
Optimistic problem-solver and team player
Excellent communicator and writer, personable, socially savvy and a good sense of humor
Goal oriented and comfortable analyzing and using data to help inform recommendations and decisions
Flexible and unflappable
