Alverno Heights Academy is currently searching for a Director of Enrollment Management who will oversee the school’s domestic and international admissions program and work closely with the Director of Marketing, Director of Development and Institutional Advancement, Director of Alumnae Affairs, and Assistant Head of School on school marketing and recruitment efforts. The position reports directly to the Head of School and is a member of the senior staff. The Director oversees all aspects of the Admissions process and the School’s enrollment.
Serve as an articulate spokesperson for the school, able to clearly communicate the Mission and Philosophy of Alverno Heights Academy.
Interpret the school to prospective candidates and their families.
Maintain a warm, welcoming, and efficient operation.
Direct the admission process from point of inquiry through enrollment.
Formulate and execute forward-thinking, strategic admission and enrollment policies and practices that will attract and engage mission-appropriate families whose girls will benefit from the School’s unique culture and program.
Coordinate and participate in all recruitment efforts including development of materials, marketing, social media, advertising, etc. in cooperation with the Director of Marketing, Assistant Head of School, and Head of School.
Coordinate and participate in all recruitment activities including but not limited to school visits, high school fairs, open houses, prospective parent events, activities for prospective students, etc.
Coordinate the review of all applications, interviews and meetings with prospective students and their families.
Coordinate and administer the HSPT exam and other placement testing.
Promote good relationships with outside groups including elementary and middle schools, outside organizations, education consultants, etc.
Increase the school’s visibility and outreach to new organizations and communities.
Manage all aspects of new student enrollment and, in partnership with the Assistant Head of School, Head of School and Business Office, implement the reenrollment of current students.
Works with the Variable Tuition Committee on financial aid award decisions.
In conjunction with the School’s Leadership team manages enrollment of current students and any transfer concerns.
Provides regular reports to the Leadership team, the Board, and faculty on the results of admissions activity, research, demographics, and other relevant enrollment trends.
Participates in Board of Trustee meetings and committees, is involved in strategic planning, and keeps the Board fully apprised of the School’s admission and tuition assistance endeavors.
In partnership with the Head of School, Assistant Head of School, and Advancement Office, support a parent volunteer program that creates positive community with parents, faculty, and staff
Manage, maintain, and administer all aspects of the school’s SEVIS certification, including issuing I-20 Visas for international students
Be sensitive to economic, cultural, and other matters present in the enrollment of a diverse student body.
Actively seek ongoing professional development through a well-established professional learning network and support other admission staff in the same pursuit.
Enthusiastically serve as a member of the senior staff that leads and supports school-wide initiatives, policies, events and procedures.
Flexibility to support other departments and faculty members with events and activities.
Assists Head of School with all other duties as assigned.
Adhere to the NAIS Principles of Good Practice for Admission.
Qualities and Traits:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or education; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
Strong technology skills including social media expertise.
Personal and professional conduct that represents a positive role model for girls.
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment while maintaining professionalism and a sense of humor.
Expert verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate warmth, empathy, humor, and love for girls, their parents, and their teachers.
Experience working with database management systems (i.e. SchoolAdmin, Blackbaud, Alma), Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin a plus.
Experience as a teacher, student, parent, and/or administrator in an independent school.
Experience with inclusive education and academic diversity.
Proven commitment to single-gender education as evidenced by involvement in a girls’ school, co-curricular programming, or volunteer efforts.
