Position: Communications Coordinator Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Communications

POSITION SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Reporting to the Director of Communications (DC), the Communications Coordinator (CC) is a key member of New Roads School’s Communications team. The CC develops a broad range of communications and marketing experience in a non-profit or educational setting.
The CC assists with the implementation of multiple communications initiatives for the school K-12 and provides a wide range of administrative and project support to the Communications Department. The CC directly assists the Communications offices with:
Drafting, editing and distributing eblasts, news stories and press releases
Updating website and database maintenance
Social media posts and campaigns
Event and activity photography and video recording, photo editing, photo archiving, video editing
Manage social media ad campaigns and analytics
Monitor the school’s online presence, updating online profiles as needed
Other administrative duties as assigned
Must write with clarity and a solid understanding of grammar
Must write well in multiple voices for different audiences and contexts
Detail oriented and self starter
Good interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Experience with content management systems preferred
Familiar with social media platforms
Experience with basic video editing a plus
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, and with Raiser’s Edge, a plus
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or preferred
1-2 years experience in Communications, Marketing or other related field
