Currey Ingram Academy is looking for a Director of Communications. The position is full-time with benefits, and the salary range is commensurate with industry benchmarks and experience levels. The position requires prior experience managing internal and external communications and advertising for a school, nonprofit organization or business with measurable recruitment and/or sales goals that are directly supported by communications efforts. Proven results will be requested for those offered an interview, e.g., enrollment increases, sales increases, plans that you wrote and implemented that were successful, advertising performance tracking, etc. Significant experience is desired in writing for target audiences and for the written and spoken word; editing for both style and tone/content (AP Style knowledge preferred); materials development (fliers, brochures, etc.); graphic design management (not the design work itself); video production oversight; media relations; social media planning and implementation; digital advertising placement and monitoring; Google Analytics; event planning support; website content management and basic design (ideally using Whipple Hill/Blackbaud software, but not required); crisis management; speech-writing and run-of-show development for events; paid print/radio/TV advertising production and buying/planning; internal communications support for newsletters and other publications for parents and students; development/giving campaign promotions; photography and videography and related editing using Mac software tools (procure yourself and plan for outside vendor to procure), and strategic communications planning to support organizational goals. Prior experience in an independent school setting in a similar position will be considered above all other background experiences but is not required.
