The Admission Associate reports to the Director of Admission and assists with all of the responsibilities of the enrollment operation, including but not limited to: travel, interviewing, meeting with educational consultants and school placement personnel, corresponding with families and consultants, reviewing applications, scheduling visits, recruiting and training the school tour guides, coordinating the on-campus programs for admission, and performing special projects as requested by the Director of Admission. The job is a 12-month, full time, position.
The position requires: strong communication skills – written and oral (public speaking); commitment to meeting deadlines and working under pressure; strong organizational skills; the ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently; the ability to adapt to an ever-changing daily schedule; evidence of a sense of humor; multicultural sensitivity; experience working with technology to monitor effective enrollment management techniques; and dedication to single sex private education.
Responsibilities: The specific responsibilities include the following:
Recruit students for Middle and Upper School; work with the Director of Admission on achieving the Upper School and Middle School enrollment goals.
Follow inquiries and applications in process to completion; manage admissions “funnel” from inquiry to enrollment.
Represent Walker’s at secondary school placement fairs and events. Schedule frequent day and overnight recruitment travel
Coordinate student tour guide program (“Cicerone Society”) including overseeing selection process, training, and scheduling tour guides.
Help plan admissions open houses with the assistance of the entire staff.
Coordinate off-campus receptions/events.
Help plan the spring open campus event for accepted students and their families with the assistance of the entire staff.
Work with the Director of Admission on updating publications, guidebooks, directories, etc.
Read applications and serve on the Admission Committee for the purpose of evaluating applicants and determining decision criteria.
Serve as a faculty advisor for current Walker’s students.
