Lincoln Academy, a co-ed, day/boarding high school on the beautiful coast of Maine, is seeking an experienced admissions professional to join the Admission Team as Assistant or Associate Director of Admission. The Asst./Assoc. Director of Admission will report directly to the Director of Enrollment and Marketing as an integral member of the Admission Office Team and will share in the responsibility for all initiatives and activities related to student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Preparing and organizing student files for the Admission Team.
Setting up for information sessions and escorting parents.
Fostering positive relationships with all school constituencies.
Interviewing prospective students grades 9-12.
Overseeing Student Ambassador Program.
Working closely with the Director of Enrollment and Marketing to plan and implement new initiatives to improve the admission process.
Attending recruitment events in other towns, states and countries that could take substantial amounts of time away from school.
Planning Open House and yield events.
Overseeing the coordination of admission testing for grades 9-12.
Collaborating with the Director of Enrollment and Marketing to identify opportunities to strengthen existing relationships with local schools and key constituencies and identify new opportunities for recruitment and outreach.
Assisting with admission database management and tracking admission prospects.
Acting as a SEVIS DSO.
Evaluating candidate files for grades 9-12 and serving on the Admission Committee.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum two years of experience in admission at an independent school or college/university is required. Knowledge of an admission database platform is preferred. Candidates must be willing to engage professionally and enthusiastically in the process of working with prospective families, evaluating applications as a member of the Admission Committee, and articulating the mission and programs of the School while performing administrative tasks for the Admission Team.
The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, creativity, judgment, and the ability to problem solve and maintain confidentiality is essential.
