Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Seattle, WA
Full Time - salary based on experience
The Bush School, a K-12 progressive, independent school located in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Director of Admissions and Financial Aid to lead a relationship-based and data-driven admissions program. The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid will manage operations for the school’s K-12 admissions program, supervise the school’s admissions team, and oversee the Upper School admissions program and financial aid process Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade for new and current students.
The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid reports to the Director of Enrollment Management and Communication, and together they set strategy and priorities for all aspects of recruitment from point of inquiry to enrolling. The ideal candidate will have customer-service orientation, commitment to equity and inclusion, and strong interpersonal skills. The Bush School is seeking an admissions professional with management experience to develop a cohesive team and robust enrollment program.
Develop and implement an annual admissions plan that supports operations, elevates diversity, equity and inclusion, and fosters a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and data-driven decision making;
Administer and manage financial aid program for $3.5 million financial aid budget;
Oversee and manage admission and retention programs and events, including parent tours, student visits, open houses, assessment days, divisional retention programming, and new family welcome events;
Work with the admissions team to manage parent volunteer and student ambassador programs, including recruiting, selecting, and training parent tour guides and student ambassadors;
Develop, communicate, and maintain applicant decision making process including policies, standards, and committee structure;
Oversee the input and export of data by the admissions team into the enrollment database (Ravenna), including entry and tracking of inquiries, applications, supporting documents, and decisions; Compile and report out on admissions and financial aid statistics and data with the Administrative Group, RMAC, Board, and other key constituents.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required;
3 plus years of admissions experience preferred;
Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion required;
Experience in supervisory or management position of an individual or team required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Maintain strong work ethic with high standards of professionalism, organization, accountability, and confidentiality;
Demonstrates maturity, resourcefulness and judgment in decision making;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Proficient with student information systems and databases (Ravenna or other enrollment database); ability to learn new technology;
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs and web-based software.
