About Emerald Mountain School
Emerald Mountain School is a K-8 school with a strong academic focus. We honor each child’s individuality. Emerald teachers have especially strong expertise in differentiating instruction so that each child is met on his or her level and challenged to move forward. Our students are taught by subject specialists from the earliest grades, and one of the things that really set Emerald apart is that we educate the whole child. Our music through strings program is a great example as it develops confidence, teamwork, and neuroplasticity as well as teaching our students to appreciate and make great music. We have a theme-based program, with the theme for the entire school changing each year. The theme provides a context for the knowledge students are learning, and the interdisciplinary nature of each theme helps the students make connections among different subjects. Outdoor education, and the opportunities it provides for developing confidence, is a key component of the program. We educate our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.
