Position Summary: The Associate Director is responsible for interviewing prospective families and students applying to the Lower School at The Haverford School, participating in all Admissions Office functions, including all aspects of the recruitment and selection of students to the Lower School. The Associate Director will be an energetic, ethical, and collaborative professional with a team approach to problem solving and have the proven communication, presentation, leadership, management, and planning skills necessary to collaborate productively with staff, faculty, students, and the community. The Associate Director must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of recruitment, retention, tuition assistance, and strategic enrollment planning in an independent school setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Participate in all areas of Lower School admissions activities including enrollment management, tuition assistance, and marketing •Interview prospective families and students applying to the Lower School •Make timely decisions on admissions files and ensure the flow of applicant decisions •Serve as committee head on Lower School admissions evaluation committee •Help plan and attend information sessions, luncheons, and school visits (internal and external) •Increase inquiry and applicant pool through technology, social media, marketing, and outreach initiatives to help meet full enrollment •Continuously utilize data points and surveys to assist in making realistic enrollment projections •Prepare admission reports •Work directly and positively with the Lower School Division Head, faculty, and staff to help attract and yield the most mission-appropriate boys to The Haverford School •Work collaboratively with the Communications Office to ensure a strategic marketing/advertising plan supported by data •Manage all aspects of the admissions process for Lower School families, including interviews, managing files, and communicating decisions
•Communicate touch points to prospective families to provide a personalized experience •Organize and facilitate Lower School events, including weekend play visits for applicants; Look and Learns; and new student events •Work with the admissions branch of the Parent Ambassador Program to best leverage their resources with prospective parents •Foster relationships with other admissions professionals and partnership schools to evaluate best practices to yield families •Utilize technology to assist in expanding, coordinating, and growing the internal and external marketing efforts of the Admissions Office •Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Head for External Affairs and Enrollment Management |
