The Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management is a member of a progressive senior leadership team whose members work in collaboration with each other and the head of school. In addition to the responsibilities of the director position, the successful candidate will participate in the boarding aspect of school life, with some responsibilities related to student life. In addition to collaborating with other lead administrators, the director of admissions interacts frequently with the Board of Trustees.
Effectively represent and describe the benefits of West Nottingham Academy’s small and welcoming community through the display of strong public speaking, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Devise creative strategies to attract, engage, and retain students and families who share enthusiasm for West Nottingham Academy’s diverse student body, forward-thinking academic curriculum, and robust student life offerings.
Provide ongoing review of West Nottingham Academy’s admission and enrollment management processes, including prospective student identification, application, admission, enrollment, re-enrollment, and the awarding of financial aid.
Monitor and analyze both local and national demographic trends that affect boarding and independent day school enrollment.
Coordinate and manage the scheduling and planning of recruitment and yield events, including on-campus open houses, middle-school workshops, Accepted Students Day, Parents’ Call Night, and opening of school Registration Day.
Manage the updating of relevant statistics related to all phases of enrollment management, providing reports to the Board of Trustees as requested throughout the year.
Act as the primary designated school official (PDSO) relating to all SEVIS matters for those students requiring I-20 documents.
Work collaboratively with other members of the Advancement team to communicate clearly the value proposition of West Nottingham Academy to prospective students and their families.
With the director of communications, produce compelling admissions publications, oversee website content, and give input on strategies for online marketing, social media, and print advertising.
Work to maintain and grow relationships with local feeder schools and organizations as well as educational consultants in the U.S. and abroad. This includes much domestic travel to placement fairs and feeder schools, as well as a few international recruitment trips throughout the year.
Work collaboratively with the directors of teaching and learning, athletics, international program, Chesapeake Learning Center, and college counseling to meet WNA’s goals related to the overall quality and ability of each incoming student.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in an independent school or college admissions office and have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a sense of humor. Independent school experience is preferred, but not required. This is a wonderful opportunity for an admissions professional looking to lead a small office and implement creative ideas.

We are a 9-12 grade coeducational boarding and day school located in Maryland near the picturesque Chesapeake Bay, an hour’s drive from either Philadelphia or Baltimore. Last year, 120 students were enrolled, including 37% from overseas.
