Vermont Academy is seeking an energetic, innovative admissions professional with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to lead our Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of admissions successes, including experience in bringing together balanced and diverse cohorts of students and in meeting the demographic challenges posed by today’s admissions markets.
Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid will:
Craft and implement a strategic enrollment management plan that will attract mission-appropriate students, including boarding and day students, male and female students, athletes and artists, and domestic and international students.
Present Vermont Academy to prospective families on- and off-campus.
Oversee and direct a schedule of strategic admissions events.
Manage a team of dedicated admissions professionals.
Use data to drive decision making.
Work with the Chief Financial Officer to administer an effective and sustainable financial aid strategy.
Work with the Dean of Students and the Dean of Studies on enrollment management and retention, from inquiry through matriculation.
Work with the Director of Advancement to share information and support advancement work.
Work with the Director of Communications on clear, authentic storytelling about Vermont Academy and what distinguishes it from other schools.
Foster and maintain relationships with educational consultants, feeder schools, alumni, former families, and other key referral sources.
Work with the Head of School and the senior leadership team to set strategy and to realize a vision of Vermont Academy as “Vermont’s academy,” representing Vermont values such as independence, ingenuity, resilience, sustainability, a love of the outdoors, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
