The Hawken School, founded in 1915, seeks an experienced and forward focused enrollment management professional for the Assistant Head for Enrollment Management. Hawken is a coeducational independent, college preparatory day serving a diverse student body of 1,021 in PS through grade 12, who yield from 9 counties in Northeast Ohio. The Assistant Head for Enrollment Management oversees admission and enrollment at 4 campus locations including Lyndhurst: Preschool–Grade 8, Birchwood: Preschool–Grade 8, Gates Mills: Grades 9-12 and University Circle. The Assistant Head for Enrollment Management plays a vital role in the Hawken community and will be expected to strengthen the enrollment management infrastructure by implementing strategies to ensure that the Office achieves its enrollment goals set by the Board of Trustees and Head of School. 30 % of Hawken student are students of color and the financial aid budget of $6 million provides 38% of the students financial aid. Reporting to the Head of School, the Assistant Head for Enrollment Management manages a staff of 9, is a member of the Administrative Team, and works closely with the Board of Trustees. The Assistant Head will be expected to provide leadership and implement a strategic enrollment vision of the school that is aligned with the innovation and quality that Hawken is known for.
Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (Masters degree preferred), five years of enrollment management experience, and a working understanding of net tuition revenue. In addition, one must be a strong manager, a team player and possess superior communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, high energy, flexibility, warmth, and a sense of humor.
