The Director of Communications plans, writes and designs materials for print and digital media to support the school's mission and strategic goals. Activities include writing and editing all school publications, designing advertising and marketing materials, and using photography/videography, social media, the website and other digital platforms to reach the broadest possible audience. This position reports to the Head of School; and the Director of Communication works closely with freelance design professionals, IT providers, etc. The Director of Communications is a member of the Advancement Team, which includes the Director of Admissions and the Director of Development. This group works closely with the Head of School to plan and implement the school's strategic plan.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of five years experience in journalism or communications; superb writing skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; a strataegic thinker. At least a BA degree. Experience in independent and/or Montessori schools is desirable.
